By Kandiss Fernando R.TCMP.

Eastern Medicines view our bodies in a multidimensional way, with the physical body just being one aspect. Within, around and above the physical body are more subtle energy bodies. It is within these more subtle energy fields that our chakras (centers of vital energy) lay.

The heart chakra lies in the middle of the chest, level with the heart. It is responsible for our ability to love and accept ourselves and others unconditionally. It is also closely connected with the sense of touch, since this brings us closer to other people and allows us to comfort and be comforted.

A few signs that you can benefit from activating and harmonizing your heart chakra:

  • If it is difficult to let other people into your life and you feel lonely and isolated.
  • If you want to increase your compassion for others and want to experience a sense of inner peace.
